What sizes of storage units do you offer?

We offer a range of sizes, including:
5x4 (20 sq ft)
5x10 (walk-in closet size)

10x24 (larger than a one-car garage)

What size are the garage doors?

The garage doors opening on the larger units are about 7 feet 10 inches wide and 7 feet 10 inches tall.

What are your rental rates?

How secure is the facility?

Leadville Storage is equipped with security cameras to help protect your belongings. We also recommend using a disc lock, which can be rented or purchased on-site.

What are the access hours for tenants?

Tenants have 24/7 drive up access to their units.


Are there staff in the storage facility?

The facility is unmanned, but you can always email, message, or call us during office hours from                     8 AM to 5 PM at (719) 581-7580 or email us at info@leadvillestorage.com. We’ll reply as soon as possible!

How do I manage my storage remotely?

Upon renting a unit, you'll be provided with an account to manage your storage remotely. Your username and password will be issued, allowing you to log into your customer portal. From your account, you can make payments, sign, view, or download a copy of your online contract, rent additional units, view your account balance, and update your profile and billing information. With these convenient options, managing your storage is efficient and hassle-free, no matter where you are.

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

No, our rentals are month-to-month, allowing you to store your items for as long or as short as you need. We do have a one-month minimum.

Is insurance required for my stored items?

Our tenants are required to provide insurance details from their homeowners or renters policy. If you do not have a homeowners or renters insurance policy that covers a storage unit, you are required to use our Tenant Protection Policy. Coverage ranges from $12/month for $2,000 worth of coverage to $42/month for $15,000 worth. Tenant Protection covers various damages, including burglary, fire, and vandalism. Are climate-controlled units available?

We do not offer climate-controlled units. Temperatures in Leadville are extreme and it can get hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.

How do we handle snow removal?

Leadville Storage strives to remove snow from the complex, but ice regularly builds up in front of the doors. It is the responsibility of the tenant to remove snow from in front of their unit. If you do not maintain your snow removal and the unit gets iced over and we need to hire someone to chip out the ice, there is a $100 ice removal fee. This will require a minimum of 72 hours notice. When accessing the unit for the first time, it is important to remember that Leadville gets over 150 inches of snow a year. The doors can be difficult to open due to snow and ice. Having the following tools with you will often be necessary: gloves, large screwdriver, hammer, chisel and metal shovel.

What items are prohibited from being stored?

Prohibited items include perishable food, flammable materials, hazardous chemicals, and volatile substances. Any appliances should be fully cleaned prior storing. We do not allow vehicles of any kind to be stored in our units.

How do I make payments?

Payments can be made through our secure online portal using major credit or debit cards.

Can I change unit sizes if I need more or less space?

If you need to switch units or for any inquiries, please call us at (719) 581-7580.

What is the process to move out?

Leadville Storage requires two weeks’ notice for move-outs to avoid deposit forfeiture. After notice, we’ll secure your unit with a move-out lock & send the code. Once emptied, remove your lock and leave ours. To complete your move-out and stop billing, send a photo of the clean, empty unit (broom-swept) & one of the exterior showing the unit number & our lock to info@leadvillestorage.com or text (719) 581-7580. Move-out is complete once both photos are received.
